Yoga & Personal Training

I discovered yoga in high school at the local Y.M.C.A.   After taking formal classes in college and at private studios, I found a special place in my heart for yoga in the gym setting.  In the early 2000s, a division emerged between gym classes and studio classes.  I made it my mission to bring high level yoga classes into local fitness centers.

I obtained my American Council on Exercise certification in yoga and personal training and became an instructor at multiple facilities.  Branching out from the gym setting and into corporations, I began leading classes at Children's National Hospital and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA).  I also cultivated a private teaching studio, where I assess individual needs and craft a home practice that helps the body feel its best.

In classes, I draw upon over 20 years of a personal practice, along with many teacher trainings in this country and across Europe into India.  I believe that if you are feeling a shift in your body’s energy, you are doing your yoga.  For more information on private yoga sessions, please fill out the contact form

"Hannah is a remarkable yoga teacher.  She taught me proper alignment and correct muscle engagement with which I was able to achieve challenging poses (all kinds of arm balances and inversions).  Under Hannah’s guidance, I learned so much about my body and how to appreciate my body for its strengths and to acknowledge but not be so harsh on its perceived 'weaknesses.' What I learned from Hannah in yoga was transferrable to everything from improving my posture in daily life to feeling better and stronger in various physical activities.  Most importantly, Hannah is kind, positive, and encouraging.  She is a gifted teacher, and I feel fortunate to also call her my friend."
